M: What’s the matter? You look really tired today.

W: I am tired. I didn’t sleep well last night.
M: Bad dream?
W: Yes. Exactly. I had a terrible dream, a real nightmare. /ɪɡ'zæktli/ /'naɪtmeə/
(real放在名词前,表示十足的,绝对的,强调状态或品质)
M: So it woke you up.
(wake up:醒来、wake sb. up:弄醒,唤醒)
W: Yes, it woke me up. I was really scared.
(scared of sb./sth. →scared of doing sth.)
M: I’ve had those kinds of dreams, too.
W: It was so scary that I was afraid to go back to sleep.
