別人的看法當然重要，因為那是分辨我們有沒有自我實現（需求理論）了的其中一個指標，我們要做自己、成為我們想成為的人，我們要得到尊重需要（需求理論），與社會需要（需求理論），別人目前的看法是用來了解目前別人眼中的自己跟自己理想中的自己有沒有落差的一個指標，所以別人的看法當然重要。不過這個指標並不是用來看自己有沒有被“所有人”喜歡，而是用來看你是不是成為你理想中的那個人了，也就是說如果你成為了，你知道有些人必定會討厭你，那那些人討厭你才是正確的指標，顯示說你是那樣的人了，你要看那些人的看法，看是不是討厭你的、會喜歡“你理想中的自己”的人又是不是喜歡你的、會對你理想中的你無感的人又是不是對你無感的。
