No man in sight across thousands of trails.

In a lone boat, an old man in a straw cloak

Angles all alone in the river cold with snow.

Sitting in his lone boat, fishing in this river in snow

Over the rolling hills, no birds to be seen flying,

Through the winding trails, no one to be found passing.

Under the cape made of grass, in a bamboo hat an old man sits,

In the only boat on the river, fishing alone in the cold and snow.
