Reading Response - The Kidnapped

When Dink and his friends went to school, they met a new boy named Sammi, and his parents are kidnapped because they are the king and queen. So his tutor Joan take him to Green Lawn and he will stay at Dink's house for a month. Sammi showed Dink his kaleidorscope which had pieces of colored glass inside it. The colors are: red, yellow and blue.

That night, Joan went to Dink' s house t teach Sammi French. First, Joan teach him how to say blue: bleu; red: rouge..and now, it's Dink's turn. He said jaune (the color for yellow) into Joan, and couldn't make it right. Then the tutor said they would learn more tomorrow and she went back to the hotel.

Dink found that Sammi was missing the next day! He called his friends to search for Sammi in the house. Then Dink found 2 pieces of yellow glass that came from Sammi's kaleidoscope and Josh found a piece of yellow glass. Dink thought it was a clue, so they followed the yellow glass trail, as they reached Eddie's Dinner for a snack, they got a phone call from officer Fallon, he said he found a golden tassle (the tassle is from Sammi's slipper) near Ron's boat shop in the river and one of the boat is missing. Dink thought the kidnapper might be just letting us out of the track, so they went to Joan's hotel to have a look. After they checked the hotel, they found nothing but a piece of yellow glass. "Wait!" Dink shouted as they are coming out of the hotel," I think Joan is the kidnapper."

"Why?" asked Ruth Rose.

"Because I remember I said 'jaune' into 'Joan' when Joan is teaching us French. So maybe Sammi is trying to use this clue to tell uss it's Joan who kidnapped him. Let's keep an eye on Joan."

The next day, they saw Joan with a man is tying Sammi up behind a big tree near the hotel. Dink called officer Fallon and soon Joan and the man are put in jail.

Another mystery is solved!
