The space is compact but well equipped,the main section furnished with a bare-bone kitchen and a two-seat dining table. Above it hangs a fat attic fenced by gracefully shaped handrail.Connecting the two parts is a versatile slanting ladder whose rungs spread and link to the pantry wall to form a shelf,on which books, handbags and wine glasses line up tidily. Two windows looking out to the freshness of countryside rid the the cramped room of stuffiness and depression.

The window frames, the pantry walls, the cabinets, the kitchen ceiling and the shelf-ladder are all wooden, suggestive of rustic charm and vintage style. The kitchen is lit with nostalgically yellowish lights. Weren’t  it for the black-fringed white dishwasher and an electronic coffee maker on the counter,you would have considered it a quaint old cottage.
