英语老师就该用英语授课？错！

英语老师嘛，上课就该用英语授课！很多领导和专家都是这么想的。理由是什么呢？理由是学生平时听到英语的机会少，用英语交流的机会少。课堂上这个听英语的机会当然不能错过。

如果是在30年前，这个理由还是基本成立的。但是在信息技术如此发达的今天，再这么讲就站不住脚了。君不见，学生们人手一台智能手机，互联网上铺天盖地的英语原声音频材料。说学生听英语的机会少，完全是睁着眼睛说瞎话。

更何况，英语老师在课堂上讲英语，还有很大的负面作用。除了极少数英语老师以外，绝大多数英语老师的发音都有错误和缺陷。用这种发音来教孩子，你们真的不担心误人子弟吗？

即便是老师的发音很标准，用英语授课仍然是不现实的。因为大多数中国学生的听力水平几乎是零！为了让学生听懂，老师将不得不降低语速，并将各个单词的发音完全分隔开。这一方面降低了课堂效率，另一方面，会让学生永远也无法适应英美人士的真实发音。

笔者做过一个实验，找来20个英语过了大学四级的学生，让他们听写初中二年级的一篇课文（播放原声录音）。录音播放5遍后，将听写结果收上来。结果发现句子听写平均正确率不足20%。

其实这个问题，很早就被人发现了。《新概念英语》第二册第25课（Do the English speak English），讲的就是这个问题。一个人第一次来到英国，发现这里的人讲的英语自己完全听不懂，他发现英语老师讲的英语和真实的英语完全不同。用今天的网络语言讲，他学的是“假英语”。

这种假英语，我们还要让学生学到何时？

聆听英语的条件已经如此便利，我们为什么不要求学生去聆听真实的英语？

I arrived in London at last. The railway station was big, black and dark. I did not know the way to my hotel, so I asked a porter. I not only spoke English very carefully, but very clearly as well.The porter, however, could not understand me. Then he spoke slowly, but I could not understand him. My teacher never spoke English like that! The porter and I looked at each other and smiled. Then he said something and I understood it. 'You'll soon learn English!' he said. I wonder. In England, each person speaks a different language. The English understand each other, but I don't understand them! Do they speak English?
