Summary

Should we really vent about arduous commute, insufferable boss and disappointing cost-of-living adjustment at work?

For the advantage, it can be cathartic,bonding and productive by sharing frustrations and spewing complaints.

But venting can be risky.For the boss, he has to absorb the stress from employees. For the coworkers, peer ranting can distract their attention. Even for the venter himself, he will end up feeling worse by reliving them all over again. If he confides to the wrong person, he might become a team gossip. Or too many gripes will infect the whole office, prompting people to vent about him.

Actually, venting is a simple way to get the emotions out, but we must do that carefully and wisely.
