Almost forgotten （差点忘了）

Today is the third day of the National Day holiday. The morning passed leisurely. After a short nap, I thought about what to write today. I rummaged through some materials and resolved to lie down on the sofa, read some books and then write a book review. What a beautiful afternoon! I said to myself.

But then suddenly an idea occurred to me. "What day is it today? Is today Sunday or Monday? Well, it is a Monday, but it is a Monday during the holiday. So no need to worry about work. Really? Do overseas students observe Chinese National Day? No! Do I have to teach them on Monday? Yes, definitely!" I suddenly jumped up and took another look at this week's course schedule for overseas students.

It said in black and white that I had 1.5 hours of class starting at 2:30 pm. Fortunately, due to the time difference, the class starts quite late because their morning corresponds to our afternoon. So I still had 1 hour to prepare everything.

Thank goodness I did not miss class or I would have been embarrassed. This little mishap reminds me once again how important it is to double-check my calendar and monthly planner at the beginning of the day. Planning the day right at the beginning can never be ignored.
差点忘了

今天是国庆节假期的第三天。上午悠闲地滑过。中午睡了一会儿，我在想今天该写点儿什么。浏览了一些资料，我打算躺在沙发上看书，然后写一篇读书报告。这是一个多么快乐和自由的下午啊！我对自己说。

然而，一个念头突然划过脑海。"今天是什么日子？是星期天还是星期一？好吧，是星期一，但这是国庆假期中的星期一。所以不用担心工作。真的吗？外国学生也庆祝中国的国庆节吗？当然不！那么我必须在周一给他们上课吗？是的，肯定是！" 我突然惊跳起来，重新查看了本周海外学生的课程表。

嗯，白纸黑字写着，我从下午2:30开始有1.5小时的课。幸运的是，由于时差的关系，课程开始得比较晚，因为他们的上午对应的是我们的下午。我还有一个小时的时间来做准备。

谢天谢地，我没有错过讲课；否则就太尴尬了。这个小意外再次提醒我在一天开始之时必须仔细检查日历和日程。一日之计在于晨永远都不过时。
