按章翻译《道德经》第66章

江海所以能为百谷王者，以其善下之也，故能为百谷王。是以圣人欲上人，必以言下之；欲先人，必以身下之；是以圣人处上而民不重，处前而民不害；是以天下乐推而不厌，以其不争，故天下莫能与之争。

长江大海之所以成为众多沟谷之王，就是他们善于处在低位，因此能够成为许多川峡的王者。圣人想要位居民众之上，必须语言谦虚；想要率领百姓，必须自身利益放在后面；因此，圣人身居高位，民众不会有压力，领先带头，百姓不会受伤害；天下百姓就会乐意推举而不厌烦；凭借无为不争，天下没人能和你争夺了。

The reason to be king of many valleys by those river and sea, is to stay at low position, so it can become the king of many valleys. The sage who wants to be in high position, must be modest in speech; if he wants to lead the people, he must set back his own interests so that sage is in high position, and the people do not feel pressure, takes the lead, and the people are not afraid of losing interest. The people of the world will be willing to recommend him without boring. The saints are inaction without struggling, so no one in the world can compete with him.
