知识点1：practice 作及物动词，意为"训练"，后接名词、代词作宾语。

当 practice 后接动词作宾语时，要用 v - ing 形式。如：

My son has to practice the guitar every day .我儿子必须每天练习吉他。

Zhang Yu practices driving after work these days .张宇这段时间下班后练习开车。

知识点2: keep on doing sth .

keep on doing sth ．意为"继续做某事"，表示经过一段时间间隔后"继续做同一件事"，中间有明显的停顿。如：

Lucy kept on asking questions in class .露西在课堂上不断地问问题。

【辨析】 keep doing sth ．表示"一直或不断地做某事"，强调某个动作连续不断地进行，中间没有停顿。如：

He kept standing during the meeting .开会时他一直站着。

知识点3: try one s best

try one ' s best 意为"尽某人最大的努力"，其后常接带 to 的动词不定式，即 try one ' s best to do sth .，表示"尽某人最大的努力去做某事"。如：

You should try your best to finish the work today .今天你应该尽力完成这项工作。

知识点4: want sb . to do sth .

Jim wants you to come here at 3 o ' clock .吉姆想要你三点钟来到这里。

知识点5:sure

sure 意为"确信；肯定；有把握"，常用结构有：

◆ be sure of / about sth ．表示"对某事有把握"。如：

I ' m sure of / about Linda ' s phone number .我确信是琳达的电话号码。

◆ be sure to do sth ．表示"务必做某事，一定做某事"。如：

Be sure to arrive on time tomorrow .明天一定要准时到达。

" be sure + that 从句"表示"肯定：确信"。如： Helen is sure that she can pass the exam .

海伦确信她能通过考试。

make sure 表示"确保；查明"，其后可接 of sth .，动词不定式或 that 从句。如：

- Did you lock the door ?

- I think so , but I ' d better make sure of it .

--﹣你锁门了吗？

--﹣我想是吧，但我最好确定一下。

Make sure to close the door when you leave .当你离开的时候一定要关上门。

She looked around to make sure that she was alone .
