If you like a certain product or service on Facebook, Facebook will show its ad to your friends. Your friends will pay more attention to the ad because you liked it. It's called social advertising, and you may want to opt out of this feature.

Navigate to your Settings page. Click Ads on the left. Change both options from Only Friends to No one. Make sure to click Save Changes.
