雅思大作文009–哪门课更重要？历史课还是科技课？（2018剑1

一、题目

Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that , in today’s world, subjects like Science and Technology are more important than History.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

这是一道教育类价值判断观点型题目。题目要求考生从正反两个方面讨论历史课或科学课哪门更重要并且给出自己的看法。我能想到的历史课更重要的理由有：历史帮助学生了解自己国家和民族的过去，让他们对自己的身份更有认同感；历史还能让学生学习祖先过去的经验和教训，让他们更加从容地应对当今世界的问题；历史课不是死记硬背的学科，梳理历史事件可以提高学生的大局意识和解决社会、生活问题的能力。科学课的重要性在于培养学生的科学素养，让他们能够掌握最新现代科学技术知识更好地解决社会问题、让人们生活得更幸福。科学课还能帮助一个国家跟上世界科技发展的潮流、与时俱进避免受他国制约或被他国霸凌。我的观点是折中主义，即历史课和科学课同等重要，在学校教育中两者都不可偏废。以上思路是就历史课和科学课分别从重要性两方面来讨论题目的问题，感觉还是比较可行。文稿末尾我打算按照一贯套路总结主题段的思想最后再提出自己的观点并得出自己的结论。

In today’s school education, there is a heated debate on the issue of which subject is more important: History or Science and Technology? Some people hold that History is more important, while others take the opposite view. In the following, I’d like to talk about both of these opposing stance and present my own ideas in the end.

Those folks who are History fans believe History can teach students where they come from and who they are, therefore can give the students a sense of identity, otherwise these young are very likely to loss themselves in today’s complicated and ever-evolving world. In addition, History is not at all a subject of rote learning and only about old facts, dates, incidents or demised (这是一个雅思阅读高级词汇，没想到在这里就用上了。看来日常的积累还是十分有用滴，有木有？）ancestors but one which can cultivate the youngsters’ ability to draw lessons from what happened in the past and enhance their skills to confront and solve new problems facing our modern society like poverty, famine or climate change. Hence, these guys believe History is one of the most significant (这里我用significant代替important是为了避免与题目用词的雷同。各位小伙伴也可以平时多积累近义词来学习这种得分妙法，哈哈。) school subject.

On the other hand, some people believe Science and Technology course is more important than History course. (这里我用了颠倒题目顺序的方式来改写题目。各位小伙伴们看出来了吗？) To begin with, subjects like Science and Technology explore the rules and laws of the physical world, it does very well to develop the students’ quality of inquiry and discovery. At the same time it can help the students to develop their ability to analyze the causes of natural phenomena and develop methods to solve practical questions to build up the wellbeing of the compatriots. What’s more, Subjects like Science and Technology can also help a country to keep abreast with the latest development of the world and avoid being bullied or sanctioned by other overbearing superpowers（这里本来想用“列强”一词，但一时怎么都想不起来了，看来平时词汇积累还要加强啊！因为现在模拟考试，所以没有查字典，直接用了前面的词替换。使用简单的词来表述复杂概念也是一个写作技巧哦！).

4、结尾段

To conclude, school subject of humanity like History can equipt the students with humanistic quality and serve as a torch to guide them follow the right direction in their life journey, while subject like Science and Technology develop the students’ ability to inherit the scientific knowledge discovered by the past generation and foster them to become talents to find remedy for the current misery of the world , build a more advanced and powerful country and peaceful world. Therefore, I deem that History and Science and Technology class are equally important to the teenagers and we should attach equal importance to these two types of subjects to turn out whole-rounded personnel of for the future world.
