Having supplied Mengniu, Yili and other big and mid-sized dairy companies with ice cream sticks since 2004, the manufacturer celebrates itself for having established solid footholds in the highly competitive market of Indonesia and Thailand for already a year.

Located in Hohhot, capital of China's northern most province of Inner Mongolia, Inner Mongolia Huaze Forest Industry and Trade Co., has been sourcing more than 50,00 square meters of birch wood a year from neighbouring Russia for four years after China banned the felling of its limited birch resources, which are mainly located in Northeast China. The birch wood provides the best natural material for making ice cream and lolipos sticks and spoons.

The Southeast Asian market sales have smoothed out the seasonal impact for the ice cream stick industry in that every year demand for ice cream sticks slacks starting in July or August, said Simons Ko, its Shanghai representative, to Top Guide Advisory Shanghai.
“Temperatures hovering about or above 30 degrees Celsius in winter, the subtropical and tropical regions of Southeast Asia market has great potential in filling up our production capacity in the traditionally slack season for our trade,” said Ko.
The market in Southeast Asia is less intensely competitive than that in China and the payment cycles are far shorter, he added that the company will also participate in some international exhibitions and conferences this year to boost its awareness among potential clients in the region.
