The Little prince Day 6
But I had never drawn a sheep .So I drawn for him one of the two pitchers I had drawn so often .It was that of the boa constrictor from the outside .And I was astounded to hear the little fellow greet it with,
“No ,no ,no! I do not want an elephant inside a boa constrictor. A boa constrictor is a very dangerous creature, and an elephant is very cumbersome. Where I live, everything is very small. What I need is a sheep. Draw me sheep. ”
但是我从来没有画过一只绵羊。所以我给他画了我最常画的两幅画之一，蟒蛇的外部图。当我听到我的小家伙说出的话感到很惊讶，他说：“不，不，不！我不想要一个在蟒蛇肚子里的大象，蟒蛇是一种危险的动物，大象又太笨重。我居住的地方，所有的东西都非常小，我需要的是一只绵羊，给我画一只绵羊。”
So then I made a drawing.
所以随后我画了一幅画给他。
He looked at it carefully, then he said:

“No. This sheep is already very sickly. Make me another.”
“不。这只绵羊太孱弱了，给我另外一个。。”
So I made another drawing.
所以我画了另外一幅。
My friend smiled gently and indulgently.
我的朋友礼貌而宽容的笑道：
“You see yourself, ” he said, “that this is not a sheep. This is a ram. It has horns.”
“你自己看，”他说，“这不是一只绵羊。这是一只山羊，它有角。”
So then I did my drawing over once more.
所以随后我又画了一次。
But it was rejected too. just like the others.
但是它也被否定了，和其他的一样。
“This one is too old. I want a sheep that will live a long time.”
“这只太老了，我想要一只可以活的久的绵羊。”
By this time my patience was exhausted, because I was in a hurry to start taking my engine apart. So I tossed off this drawing.
此时我的耐心已经消失殆尽，因为我急着要找回我的引擎碎片，所以我扔出了这幅画。
And I threw out an explanation with it.
并且给出了解释
“This is only his box. The sheep you asked for is inside.”
“这是它的盒子，你要的羊在里面。”
I was very surprised to see a light break over the face of my young judge:

“That is exactly the way I wanted it! Do you think that this sheep will have to a great deal of grass?”
“这就是我想要的！你觉得这只羊需要吃很多草吗？”
“Why?”
“为什么？”
“Because where I live everything is very small…”
“因为我住的地方所有的东西都很小……”
“There will surely be enough grass for him,” I said. “It is a very small sheep that I have given you. ”
“那里一定有足够它吃的草，”我说，“我给你的是一只非常小的绵羊”
He bent his head over the drawing:

“Not so small that…Look! He has gone to sleep…”
“不是那么小……看！他去睡觉了……”
And that is how I made the acquaintance of the little prince.
这就是我和小王子认识的过程。
