Hammer Guns And Fishing Gear

Why do I always write

with women in mind

With men I can write about

hammer, guns and fishing gear

Why do womanly verses override

Baseball, football and drinking beer

When a woman’s voice is ready to talk

Emotions run high and low

Men on the other hand are ready to go

When men have to listen you know

So this is where we are in life

Between man and woman cold as ice

Whispers upon whispers

From one hamlet to the next

A woman’s lament

“I was not ready to tell

Because he was not ready to listen”

“I was not ready to talk

Because he went out for a walk”
