There is a beautiful old tale about a man who goes to a Buddhist temple in Ibiza every day and begs Buda for the love of a woman.

He was in love with “María,” a wonderful Spanish woman.

Day after day, the man went to the Buddhist temple first thing in the morning and asked for the love of María.

Years pass by, and one day Buda appears out of the blue and says to the man, “Please, please, please, ask her for a date.”

In life, we tend to behave the same way: we pray, visualize, and ask for blessings, but we don’t do the most important thing, “try.” (Asking Maria)

Happiness, like everything else in life, is not passive. It is the by-product of doing things that make you feel good.

It’s not wrong to ask the universe for blessings. But for the universe to conspire in your favor, you need to put in the work.
