1st Online Joint Meeting

It is the FIRST joint meeting between Hornbill City Toastmasters Club (Malaysia) and Datang Advanced Toastmaster Club. We are connected by Toastmasters International and empowered by each other to be better~

I. Meeting Preparation

Two weeks before our online meeting, we organized one officer meeting between HCTMC and DATMC. In the meeting, we determined the joint-meeting procedure, roles, promotion jobs and other details.

One week before our online meeting, we lanced a wechat group to start meeting preparation.

II. All About the Meeting - Shining Points

1. Toast Session

Led by President Tze YANG, IP4, everyone held a cup to make a toast. We sent our best wishes to Toastmasters International, HCTMC and DATMC. It is so memorable and touching.

2. Highlights of the Whole Meeting

❤ Smiling TOE: Christabel LAM, TM
→ No one could fail to feel your sweet and warm smile.
→ You are confident and considerate. The brief introduction and concise summary before and after each speaker definitely showed that you are not only a good listener, but also a smart TOE with a caring heart.
→ Even there was a technical problem, you were calm and dealt with it smoothly.

❤ Lovely TTM: Young YANG, IP4
→ I know you did a lot homework before this meeting. Thank you.
→ Just as Chan Siew Yan, ACG said you were dynamic and full of power. Yes, it is what we know about you.
→ You took care of all speakers, your encouraging words made more and more people willing to have a try.

❤ Encouraging IEs and TTE
IEs: Awang SAIFELUDDIN, DTM; Carol HOU, EC3; LEE Tze Yang, IP4; Donald SONG, DL1;
TTE: Anna BONG, PM1.
→ Every IE presented their evaluations according to the objectives of the project.
→ Well organized structure with a sandwich strategy: brief summary, shining points and further improvements.
→ A call for Speaker from Awang was very impressive.
→ Very detailed report with specific suggestions for each TT speaker from Anna.

3. After Meeting Discussion Session

After the meeting, deep discussions were performed among members. It is a great opportunity for us to reflect our growth in Toastmasters.

III. All About the Meeting - Be Better

1. Guest welcome
Club officers and TOE may take full use of the time before the meeting to greet our guests to make them feel welcomed and respected.

2.Timer Control
TOE, TTM and Timer may work more closely together to start on time and finish on time. In the report, Timer may give us some tips on how to keep the time and do better next time.

3. Evaluation
Your audience is not the speaker only, but the whole people in the meeting. Therefore, what would like us to take away from your evaluation? Make 2-3 points concisely and pass your ideas to your audience.

4. Guest Feedback
Maybe due to the time limit, it was skipped. Next time, I do hope hear voices from our guests. Their comments mean a lot to us.
