①When it's 15:00 hours GMT, it's 23:00 hours in Beijing.(模拟6.8)

W: I'm interested in how children are educatied in Canada.

M: Education is compulsary from age 5 to 16.

W: Is it free?

M: Yes, up to the end of secondary school, that is about age 18.

W: What do you mean by "secondary" school?

M: Early school, that is, primary grade to grade 8, is called "elementary" school. Above that, up to grade 12, is called "secondary school". Post-secondary education, university and professional training, are sometimes called "tertiary" education.

③Normally a student must attend a certain number of courses in order to graduate, and each course which he attends gives him a credit which he may count towards a degree. In many American universities the total work for a degree consists of thirty-six courses each lasting for one semester. A typical course consists of three classes per week for fifteen weeks; while attending a university a student will probably attend four or five courses during each semester. Normally a student would expect to take four years attending two semesters each year. It is possible to spread the period of work for the degree over a longer period. It is also possible for a student to move between one university and another during his degree course, though this is not in fact done as a regular practice.

For every course that he follows, a student is given a grade, which is recorded, and the record is available for the student to show to prospective employers. All this imposes a constant pressure and strain of work, but in spite of this some students still find time for great activity in student affairs. Elections to positions in student organizations arouse much enthusiasm.

地点类的如时态交代了人物的最终地点,而非只抓某人直接交代地点信息,时态听不清had/have是非常麻烦的,直接影响最后选项;

④Dr. Smith went on a one week vocation in Mexico and on his way back, he will be staying in California for 5 days. Let me see, he will probably be back the day after tomorrow.(模拟1.10)

⑤George has returned from Europe, but he had been only here for three days before his company sent him to Canada.(全真4)

倒装句或虚拟语气的考点;选项出现非直接性答案,而是排除性答案,排除掉不是的,剩下的就是答案;

Had the policeman not arrived, who knows what would have happened.(模拟1.8)

Had I known the ansers, they would have suspected me of the killing.(模拟2.10)

⑧Fred would have paid twice as much as he did for his car if the salesman had insisted, as he really needed a car.

现实中事件发生的几率很小的,比如新闻有关美国对尼日利亚的各项支持,请选出不包括/不是的选项,如选项涉及经济,某计划,某建议,或移民如美国人移民去尼日利亚(西非国家),这种选项的几率很低;

⑨I've been waiting for that movie to come to my local cinema for six months.(模拟10.6)

⑩The bill already includes a service charge; you'd better not leave over 10%.

(11) ...The modern holiday of Thanksgiving is the result of the efforts of Sarah Hale. She was a writer and editor in the Nineteenth Century. She believed all Americans should give thanks on the same day. Sarah Hale worked for 20 years to establish a national holiday, she wrote letters to state governments and to presidents. Finally, President Abraham Lincoln approved her idea. In 1863, he proclaimed the last Thursday in November as a national day of Thanksgiving. Later, Congress declared the holiday to be celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.
