离开国王后，小王子又到了另一个星球。这里居住着一位自大的人。很喜欢这位自大的人的人设，如同小丑一般可笑又可悲。

afar是副词，很远地，和它长很像的一个词ajar则是形容词，半开的。两个词在阅读中很常见。

salute n.v. 在纳尼亚中出现过。
He drew his sword and raised it to the salute and hastily saying to the others ...
After five minutes of this exercise the little prince grew tired of the game's monotony.

mono-表示“单个，一个”例如本书出现的monarch 君主和常见的monologue 独白
But the conceited man did not hear him. Conceited people never hear anything but praise.

"Ashamed of what?" insisted the little prince, who wanted to help him.

Chapter 13
这一章略长，小王子遇到了一位忙着做事，记录数字的商人。
This man was so much occupied that he did not even raise his head at the little prince's arrival.
忙得不可开交。
occupy v.占领，占用。(对比preoccupy)
preoccupied can mean busy, “I was preoccupied with paying the bills”. While occupy can mean “take up space”, for example: “the apartment she occupies in Manhattan”.(出自Hinative)
Your cigarette has gone out.
你的烟卷灭了。
I am concerned with matters of consequence.
我忙着做事呢。
matters of consequence在本书属于高频词组了。(重要的事情)
be concerned with 关心;参与
...repeated the little prince, who never in his life had let go of a question once he had asked it.
小王子打破砂锅问到底的性格描述已经出现了三次。
The little prince never let go of a question, once he had asked it.
"Then my sunset?" the little prince reminded him: for he never forgot a question once he had asked it.

想起了rheumy这个词，adj.发红且泪汪汪的。这个词豹豹记吐了。
