读韩鹏杰中文和许渊冲英文《道德经》笔记（25）

原文：重为轻根，静为躁君，是以圣人终日行不离辎重。虽有荣观，燕处超然。奈何万乘之主，而以身轻天下？轻则失本，躁则失君。

翻译：The heavy is the base of the light;

the still is the lord of the rash.

So the sage goes all day long

without leaving his heavy baggage.

Though with glory in view,

he stays light-hearted.

Why should a ruler of ten thousand chariots

make light of the country?

Light, the base will be lost;

so will be a rash ruler.
