【2020雅思大作文写作讲坛003】 如何写结尾?

今天我们还是以下面2020中国大陆首考雅思大作文话题为例来详细说明一下如何给雅思考试写作模块命题短文写结尾。

In some countries, the criminal trials are shown on the TV and the general public can watch them. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? (2020/1/4)

结尾的写作需要与开头相呼应、重申自己的主要论点并提出未来可能出现的新问题以及应对的意见和建议。所以让我们先把之前写的开头拿出来做一个参照。

The portrayals of court proceedings on TV has become a familiar scene in a number of countries nowadays.（注：这句话我对话题做了一个笼统的转述。）Some people believe that televised criminal trial has more benefits than drawbacks due to its educational and  deterrent value, however，in my view, the cons of airing the criminal trials on TV to the general public outweighs the pros by distorting the truth-seeking process of a criminal trial and impairing the authority of the justice system.（注：这是我的主旨句。在这句话里我回应了问题并提出了自己的观点和核心理由。）

下面就是我从主体段的论证得出的最后的结论：

In a nutshell/In conclusion/In summary, （注：这里使用上面任何一种总结全文的连接语或者其他类似的衔接手段都可以，这样做的目的就是提示读者全文的结束) camera presence in the solemn and sacred courtroom serves some transparency, publicity and deterrence purposes yet comes at an unbearable cost of compromising the impartiality of the judicial system and endangering citizen’s multiple civil rights. All the visible and invisible downsides of the live trial show should be well addressed to guarantee that  justice can be done in the era of electronic media monopoly. （这里我用了两句话结束全文：第一句重申观点，第二句提出解决方案和建议。）

接下来，让我们再一起来赏析一下之前我在讲坛001当中提到的三位雅思写作老师的高分范文的结尾的写作方法。

首先让我们一起来看一下Lydia老师的结尾：

In conclusion, this action can help prevent the possible crime and meanwhile delivers a positive message to the public so as to improve their sense of safety in the country. Therefore, I would like to think that the advantages of this enforcement outweigh its disadvantages. (Lydia, 2020/01/11)

在这里Lydia老师用了两个句子先是简要重申了电视审判直播的两个好处，之后再次提出自己的赞同的立场以一种经典的雅思大作文结尾的方式结束了全文。

其次，我们再来看一下 Icy老师的结尾：

In conclusion, I would argue that the benefits of televising criminal trials are more significant than the possible risk of inducing the youth into committing crimes. More countries would be well-advised to air important trials on TV to educate and intimidate citizens.（Icy, 2020/01/07）

从上面的文字中我们可以看出Icy老师首先再次简要陈述自己的赞同立场，之后呼吁更多国家采用电视庭审直播的方式来教育公众和震慑罪犯。

最后，让我们再来学习一下唐伟胜老师，即微信公众号《唐老雅英语写作工作室》的唐老雅老师的短文结尾：

However, I personally do like the idea of putting criminal trials on TV. Besides telling us right from wrong in a more vivid way and preventing us from committing crimes, TV trials will let us know how the punishment is meted out（给出）and how justice is done. This, I believe, is what our basic civil right is all about.  (唐老雅，2020/01/05)

唐老师首先以让步的方式承接前文并提出自己对电视审判直播的支持。接下来具体简要阐述了电视审判的好处。最后进一步升华电视庭审直播对于我们普通社会公众的深刻作用和意义。

简而言之，写好结尾非常重要，因为结尾是作者留给读者或考官的最后印象，也是作者最后拿分的机会，所以值得认真对待。好的结尾简要精炼，高度概括全文要点和进一步强调己方的立场。如果时间许可，作者还可以顺便讨论一下问题的相关社会、伦理、物质或心理的影响，留给读者更多思考的空间，启发读者对讨论问题做出更加深入的思考。

一、With city streets and highways become increasingly overcrowded, many people are calling for municipalities to work harder to promote public transit such as buses, trains, and subways. In many cases, though, the costs are too high or the public interest is too low.What can municipalities do to make public transportation more attractive to residents? What can they do to fund these public transportation systems? Provide detailed reasons and examples to support your answer.

二、Some people think that parents should teach their children to be good members of society. However, others believe school is the best place to learn. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the idea? Share your knowlege and experiences and give your reasons for your answers. 

三、Nowadays increasing number of people opt for migrating oversees. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

1. In conclusion, a governent has the power to change a city's traffic situation by educating the public and by making driving less attractive. Thus, if driving becomes overly expensive and a train seems more enjoyable, people are more willing to take advantage of this opportunity.

2. In short, I believe parents should teach their kids to behave well in the community because parents can share their life experiences with them. Hence, if school were to teach this, the role of the family would be compromised.

3. To sum up, despite the cultural shock and potential high cost of moving abroad, in my view, the prospect of expanding one's knowledge, intersts and experiences is a positive which outweighs all negatives.
