Glorify the Lord
“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians10:31
“Just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.”1 Corinthians10:33
The above scriptures tell us two important life principles that one is to “glorify God” and another is to “seek the benefit of all.” It means that so long as our God can be glorified and make all benefit, we can all say and do whatever at home, in society, at work, at rest, in the relationship with believers or unbelievers. Nothing can leave the two principles. So far as we follow the two principles, we need not worry about anything we do. Besides, we should remember that we must not do all things forbidden in the Holy Bible book. We will do according to all that the scriptures teach us.
The goal of the Christians is to preach gospel to people and let God save them. For the issue, it is challenge for me. This spring Festival, when I told my parents that I had become a Christian, they felt very angry, not mention to preach the gospel to them. However, in my opinion, even they disapprove of my belief, I don’t follow my parent’s thoughts, because I believe that my belief can bring them benefits. When I communicated with them in the past months, I often told my parents about the moved things from our kind pastor and the church. In the recent days, I came back to my hometown for vacation. My parents also change their attitude and no longer interfere my belief whatever in my prayer before the meal, fasting for some important things and so on. I know they also lack security because I am an only child. They may worry about whether my belief affect my life that I would become a cheater like other heresy…Now I only try my best to tell them about the truth according the Holy Bible book, but I need to take some time to persuade them to become the real Christians.
Tomorrow night, I will leave my hometown to work in Huizhou. Before I depart for Huizhou, I hope that I can bring my grandfather smoothly to the local Church. He is nearly 90 and often prays for his illness secretly. I hope he can go to the church every weekend and God can grant him real peace and health.
