How I Prepared My Presentation o
I had a great time sharing my design experience to a group of students, who want to get into the field of interaction design. It is one of the first few times that I share my design experience systematically to a group.
When I was preparing the presentation, what's most important is to know what the goal is, and who the audience is. Next, it's important to have a clear outline. Once I felt comfortable with the outline and how the topics progressed, I can start filling in content and make small adjustments.
Preparation is essential to a successful performance. I'm used to write out what I want to say on paper, so that I have a clear idea on what words I should use and avoid unnecessary waste of time on thinking on the spot. After that, I read the script a few times to get familiar with it, and if time allows, I remembers my general ideas on each slides, and add on things on the spot. If possible, record myself so that I can pay more attention to my vocal variety and any specific details. This is a critical step to deliver great presentation.
Anyway, I'm really happy that I was able to do a beautiful job on this (I never thought I can teach others something like this). Now I can really sleep tight!
