A treatment called inoculation makes your body resist particular deseases. It works by infecting you with a weak verison of a germ, so your body knows what to expect if you come into contact with it for real later on. 

An inoculation puts a small dose of antigens from a specific disease into your body. 

Your immuse system creates antibodies that destroy those antigens. 

From then on your body remebers how to make these antibodies... and keeps lots of them on standby too.

If you come into contact with the disease natually in the future, your body can fight off the antigens so quickly that you don't get sick. This is known as immunity.
