  昨天没有及时背，拖到晚上才背出来，效果就不是很理想。像我这种基础差得花更多的时间来背，显然我付出比较少，这也是我一直没有大进步的原因。越写越自责，有点恨铁不成钢的样子。

这段话将《宪法和独立宣言》比成期票，有色人种迟迟不能兑现，因为给他们的是种存款不足的不合格期票。相当形象。
