Working Overtime 加班

Anna and Jeremy have plans to attend a play together tonight,but Jeremy has to work overtime. While Anna is waiting in the reception area at Jeremy's company for him to finish work,Albert walks by and speaks to Anna.

安娜和杰里米计划今晚一起去看戏，但杰里米要加班。当安娜在杰里米公司的接待处等待他完成工作时，艾尔伯特走过并和安娜说话。

Albert: Hi,Anna! It's been a while! Are you waiting for Jeremy to finish work?

Anna: Yes I am. We are seeing a play tonight,but he needs to work late.

Albert: I had heard that he was given a new project. And he has been working a lot of overtime recently.

Anna: Even so,it's Friday! I can't believe he still has to work overtime. If I can't see the play,I'll regret it for the rest of my life!

Albert: Don't worry. I'm sure he will finish soon. And even if he can't make it,you can still go by yourself.

Anna: I know,but it's been a long time since our last date. He's been tied up with all sorts of things lately. And I'd be very upset if he couldn't go with me.

Albert: Yeah,that's very understandable. I'm sure Jeremy wants to see the play just as much as you do. Even so,the only thing he can do now is work hard to finish it,right?

Anna: I guess you're right. Do you mind checking to see if he's done? We need to leave now because the play begins in an hour and a half. And I don't really want to miss the beginning.
