《爱的艺术》

“Love is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, there would be no basis for the promise to love each other forever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can I judge that it will stay forever, when my act does not involve judgment and decision?”

爱是一个决定，一个判断，一个承诺。如果爱只是一种感觉，那么相爱到永远的承诺就毫无依据。感觉来了，还可能会消失。如果我的行动没有涉及判断和决定，那我怎么能判断这是永恒的爱呢？

“Love isn't something natural. Rather it requires discipline, concentration, patience, faith, and the overcoming of narcissism. It isn't a feeling, it is a practice.”

爱不是自然而然的。相反，它要求自律，专注，耐心，信念，还要克服自恋。爱不是一种感觉，而是一种实践。

“Paradoxically, the ability to be alone is the condition for the ability to love.”

听起来自相矛盾，但有能力独处是有能力去爱的前提条件。
