明月几时有?把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年?我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。起舞弄清影，何似在人间。
转朱阁，低绮户，照无眠。不应有恨，何事长向别时圆?人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。但愿人长久，千里共婵娟。
许渊冲先生《水调歌头》翻译全文：
How long will the full moon appear?
Wine cup in hand, I ask the sky.
I do not know what time of the year
It would be tonight in the palace on high.
Riding the wind, there I would fly,
Yet I’m afraid the crystalline palace would be
Too high and cold for me.
I rise and dance, with my shadow I play.
On high as on earth, would it be as gay?
The moon goes round the mansions red
Through gauze-draped window soft to shed
Her light upon the sleepless bed.
Why then when people part, is the oft full and bright?
Men have sorrow and joy; they part or meet again;
The moon is bright or dim and she may wax or wane.
There has been nothing perfect since the olden days.
So let us wish that man
Will live long as he can!
Though miles apart, we’ll share the beauty she displays.
诗歌鉴赏
苏轼，字子瞻，是我国北宋时期有名的文学家、书法家和画家，唐宋八大家之一，豪放派诗人的主要代表。《水调歌头》是诗人苏轼在密州任职期间，因在中秋时节望月怀人，为表达对弟弟苏辙的无限思念而所作的千古杰作。
诗歌的上阙第一句写到“明月几时有，把酒问青天”是诗人在月满团圆之时，举杯向上天询问，运用浪漫主义的想象力写出了天与人、月与人之间的联系。许先生翻译为：“How long will the full moon appear? Wine cup in hand, I ask the sky.”完美地将中国古代中的“满月”与“天空”联系起来，尤其是“full moon”表达非常确切，符合中秋月圆的景象。第二句：“不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年?”将诗人的思绪引向了广袤的太空，表达了诗人内心的忧虑。译文为：“I do not know what time of the year. It would be tonight in the palace on high.”其中，许先生并没有采取直译的方法，而是采取了意译，并采用了肯定句式来进行翻译，但是用了“would be”表示推测，也非常切合原文的情感。第三句：“我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。”其实是诗人借助明月委婉地表达了自己“出世”与“入世”，“退”与“进”之间的徘徊，因为中国古代文人坚信“穷则独善其身，达则兼济天下”，这是困扰文人的一个死命题。译文：“Riding the wind, there I would fly. Yet I’m afraid the crystalline palace would be. Too high and cold for me.”中“I am afraid”将诗人的犹豫和徘徊之情翻译得跃然纸上。诗歌下阙后两句话“人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。但愿人长久，千里共婵娟”是广为流传的诗句，道出了诗人更高的思想境界，给全诗增加了积极的基调。林语堂的译文“But rare is perfect happiness，The moon does wax, the moon does wane, And so men meet and say goodbye. I only pray our life be long, And our souls together heavenward fly!”中的“rare is perfect---”这个部分翻译的非常好，林先生使用了倒装句式向我们强调了完美是罕见的，个人认为这个版本更能体现诗人当时的心境。
