What’s your dream? I asked one of my colleagues. One said “nothing, not quite sure”. Then I say " You are already admitted to your ideal college and will go there in April, right?". "Yes, that's right and happy with that". "So may I know why you want take a pastry course and not others?" And she just said, "This one is easy and it would be also easy to find a job after I graduated." "Oh, I see. So have you thought about what kind of company would you apply to?" "Unless it's a black company then anything is fine with me". "Oh that's it?". "Yes, this is quite normal here, we are only common people, we do want to have normal, safe lives. That's why most of us choose the easier and less stressful courses to learn and to find a job that's in line with it then we may live a happier life." "How about learning English? If you have this ability then I think it will open more doors for you and it can help you move fast?" Then she said she did not consider leaving Japan, nor thought about that idea. She just wanted to stay her because she believes JP is the best place to live and work etc. This is true for most people and I started thinking about myself. What's my dream? Do I have a dream? What is it and how can I achieve it? After some wondering and thinking, I realized I'm no different with them. We are just common people in this society but after reading a book, I finally got the answer, we have to have a goal first among the wants list and then modify them to fit with the real situation. Keep doing it to achieve our dreams so we may live a better life in the end. How about you? Do you have a dream?
