:wq

stands for "write" and "quit." It saves the changes made to the file and exits the editor.

:wq!

also stands for "write" and "quit," but with an exclamation mark. It forcefully writes the changes to the file, even if there are permission issues or the file is marked as read-only. It then exits the editor.
