综观李成海的各体书法确令人有一种“感动”与“振动”。
“感动”是由于他是一个出身寒门自学成才的书家，完全凭着一股挚着、勤奋与痴迷，潜心书道四十多年如一日；更由于他博学善悟，“书外求书”，特别是对京剧、音乐的研习其修养之高，绝非一般票友、追星族所能比拟。从他的书法、绘画、篆刻的线条与构思中我们似乎能感到姊妹艺术的意象。他又是长安书坛中诙谐、豁达、幽默、风趣的语言大师。他的书、画、篆刻作品中的“诡形怪状翻合宜”的奇趣不也正是他性格的物化形态吗!
“震动”是看了他的作品的许多书画界朋友的共识。他的作品中郁勃之气、劲健之力、活变之法，无不令观者感奋鼓舞。这正是这位祖籍中州长在长安的书家作品所映照出的周秦汉唐雄风豪气，正是他的作品中所体现的深厚的中华传统文化气息的冲击力，也是他的作品个性精神的张扬。
