In China, when over new year, people might go visit relatives house so they take gifts with them.
A lot of supermarkets, a lot of big stores have the very special package of gifts. The red and gold ones.
Another thing that Chinese people do before Chinese New Year is that they give their houses a cleaning, it's called "Winter Clean" or "Sweeping away the Dust".
The really big thing about New Year's Eve is families get together and have a reunion dinner.
This year is a little bit different, because of Corona virus so the government encourage people not to travel back to their hometowns.
They worried about cases of Corona virus.
