Candlelight shines on the painted screen in the autumn night

With a silk fan in her hand, the maid is beating fireflies

The stone steps in the night are as cool as cold water

Seated silently at the palace and staring at Altair and Vega

【白话译文】

秋夜里烛光映照着画屏

手持小罗扇扑打萤火虫

夜色里石阶清凉如冷水

静坐着凝视牵牛织女星

【注释】

1、秋夕: 秋天的夜晚。

2、银烛: 银色精美的蜡烛。

3、画屏：画有图案的屏风。

4、轻罗小扇: 轻巧的丝质团扇。

5、流萤：飞动的萤火虫。

6、天阶: 露天的石阶。

7、牵牛织女星：两个星座的名字，指牵牛星、织女星；亦指古代神话人物牛郎和织女。
