grounds理由

1) 搭配

    ~ for: The constable had reasonable grounds for arresting her. ( constable警官)

  on the ~ of: He resigned from his post on the grounds of ill-health.

  on … grounds: Permission to open a mine was denied on environmental grounds.

2) On the grounds of inadequate English, he turned down the invitation.(因为英语不够好，他拒绝了邀请)

3)例子:  I guess the Canadian police has no reasonable grounds for arresting Meng Wanzhou.
