2018 New Year Resolutions ---‘Escape the Ordinary'

      Did you start your 2018 with great motivations and resolutions, only to find yourself back to the old way life after a few days? Did you make up your mind to wake up at 6am but yawn all day so you decided that you are not a morning person. Did you say to yourself that I'm gonna lose 5kg and never start it?

       Now you have a second chance as it is the beginning of Chinese New Year! This time, try to avoid these 3 pitfalls to finally achieve your goals.

 1. Have Too Broad Goals

       Make more money, lose 5kg, these are all wonderful goals but need to be broken down into small steps. Imagining you're the boss of a company, at every start of the year you say: 'This year is different, we're going to boost our business to a whole new level and double our revenue at the end of this year.' Your employee will kindly smile at you while they thinking …….

Making big plan only is meaningless if you don't have an realistic, feasible, even day-to-day plan. So your final goal needs to be broken down into weekly/daily plans and to be actioned right away.

 2 . Start All at Once

       You've probably selected several goals, and you are most likely to be so motivated at the start. So right in the next day, you decide to start writing a journal every morning, reading books for 30 minutes, cook your own dinner, go to the gym and start an online course. And…ooops, another failed new year resolution. 

       We are not robots, you can't simply upgrade yourself and become model2.0 within seconds. Focus on one goal at one time, especially if the goal is time-consuming such as leaning to dance. First month, you can only focus on trying to get up early and make it your new groove. Then the next month, maybe focusing on reading every day irrespective of how long. But if you're still struggling with the current goal, don't jump start to the next one.

 3. Strong Start

       If currently you wake up at 8 am and rush off to work, then to start your day at 5:30 am and first exercise for 45 mins is most likely to be a goal that is doomed to fail, or even if you did it with all your willpower, you may end uplike….

     Progress gradually, start with waking up 30 mins earlier and doing a 10 mins stretching.

    Remember to keep those common mistakes we talked about in mind.

15. Plan the next day before going to bed

(which you always think of such asDrawing, PS, coding……)

18. Spend more time with families/friends
