On the tram to Connie Mountain Top
Seasons meet
in my skin, nostrils, tongues,
ears, eyelashes
and blood vessels
Laughing,
Laughing,
Laughing half way through,
Laughing all these heads off,
inside the rising tram,
the intruder to nowhere.
Yet there is no time on the crown
for a sheer self.
Even to this day
I have been regretting:
betraying the snow, for
not all my senses were there

October 13, 2018 The Tram to the top of Connie MountainThe Dharma Teacher
I came in a shell
asking for secrets of literature
He throws a Mu to my face
And teaches me to sit zazen
Expect nothing
--A Roshi said in the book
And the teacher highlights
So I sit, on and off,
a broken light,
breathing in and out of my brain
this strange western compassion
Through a couple of seasons
Through sonnets, sutras
Snow leopard,
Stories of Satoris
Snyder the jerk,
Till in the void, vibrates again
grandma's heart mantra
in their scholarly chanting--
Gate gate paragate,
Parasamati

Where questions are answered
Karma discussed openly
Many selfish prayers responded to
Where metaphysics walks
hand in hand with science
Good intention is still the first principle
behind actions
And giving for nothing is not a shame
When I leave,
All my grandma’s delusional “Amitabha”s
will be reborn
in a lotus

When grandma is walking
on the path of darkness
towards the ninth king
Unable to speak for herself
I’ll chant in her place
And say the selfish prayers
To make her nice deeds noticed
To make her a good rebirth
In beautiful forgetting
