Friendship
Once upon a time, there was a little bear. He lived with his mom in a big, hollow tree, deep in the woods. He enjoyed being at home. But he really wanted to have friends. He felt too lonely, playing by himself. So, he asked his mom if he could go out to find some friends. His mom said: 'Yes, my sweetie, let's go together. The forest is big, and you might get lost.'
They made some snacks, and started out into the green, beautiful forest. The sun was shining through the branches of the tall trees.
The air smelled so fresh.
The little bear loved the forest.
They walked silently for a while. Suddenly, they heard laughter. Happy sounds came from a clearing among the trees. The little bear got excited. He wanted to find out who was so happy. So, he followed the laughter. They got nearer and nearer.
Then they came to a lovely meadow. Three little kids were playing catch. The sun was warming the grassy ground. Birds sang joyful songs.
The little bear joined the kids happily. He ran and laughed with them. He forgot about his mom.
So, she sat down to rest. Another mom came from the edge of the meadow. They talked together about kids.
The little bear had found what he was looking for.
He was playing happily with his friends. Then they got hungry. So, he and his friends went to the two moms talking together. He asked for the snacks, and shared them with his friends. The little bear was happy now.
He asked his mom if he could stay with his friends. She said: 'Yes, my love. I will come back in a while and pick you up. You are safe and happy here.'
The other mom stayed with them. So, the kids could play and enjoy themselves together.
Later they listened to a scary kids' story. The mom who stayed with them, took care of them.
At the end of the afternoon they were tired, and happy to go home.
They promised each other to meet again.
The little bear's mom arrived just then.They said 'Good bye' to each other, and all went home.
On the way back,
the little bear hugged his mom. He was so happy to have friends now!
