I was Simon Finch from Cornwall, a chemist then. I might be mean. As a devout Methodist, I couldn’t stand what so-called more liberal ones did and worked my way across the Atlantic to many other places.I kept John Wesley’s words in my mind, trying to speak and act cautiously in  practicing medicine and I made a pile. At first, I could control myself to be grace and humble. But soon, I just threw my words and bought 3 slaves near the bank of the Alabama River. I erected my career, got married ,had daughters. Years later, I left my fortune forever.
