细叶冰草，龙须海棠属，石竹目，番杏科，伏地生长，长达约20厘米。叶：对生，多汁，腺状，1-4厘米长。花：白色，10毫米宽。果实/种子：五瓣胶囊，种子长1毫米。繁殖：雨水冲刷。达赫兰地区，每年在浅粉砂上均有发现。

The large splashes of rusty red seen in the desert in late spring are mats of this halophyte. 晚春时节，人们发现大量锈红色的这种盐生植物，覆盖在沙漠地表。

The leaves redden in dry condition (as pictured). It is highly adapted to drought, swithching methods of photosynthesis as seaonal drought increases. 叶子在干燥状态下变红（如图所示）。 随着海洋干旱加剧，它高度适应干旱，光合作用停止。

By exuding salt, it prevents other species from growing nearby thereby reducing competition for resources. 通过渗出盐份，可以防止其他物种在附近生长，从而减少对资源的竞争。

Like Arizona canariense the fruit capsule opens to release its seeds at the first rain. 像艾松一样，它的果实囊在第一滴雨中打开，释放出种子。
